Twitter to establish its first African expansion in Ghana

Yesterday April 12, 2021 via a tweet from the CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey of twitter “Twitter is now present on the continent. Thank you, Ghana and Nana Akuffo-Addo,” indicated that the social media company would be establishing its presence in the African continent, notably Ghana.


 “Today, in line with our growth strategy, we’re excited to announce that we are now actively building a team in Ghana. To truly serve the public conversation, we must be more immersed in the rich and vibrant communities that drive the conversations taking place every day across the African continent.” according to twitter.

This big move by twitter is a decision to have an expansion in Africa with its headquarters in Ghana due to the country’s democracy, free speech, online freedom and her openness towards the internet. Ghana, a beacon of democracy has been appointed to host the The Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area has boosted the confidence of the company to set up it’s presence in Ghana.
